下次最好把两个问题分成两个帖子问，这样比较容易讨论：

Q13：

A 的比较结构错误了，are  应该放在 fungi 后面。

而且将 at acquiring carbon放在 than前 很容易造成歧义：到底是吸收碳的效率高呢？还是吸收真菌的效率高呢？

原文的意思是：失眠不太像是我们一般意义上的疾病，而是由其他一些问题所引起的症状：也许只是药物的副作用，或是旅行的焦虑，或是工作面试的压力所引起的。

这里用了一个固定搭配 “not so much .... as ”，意思是：“ 与其说....不如说....”

A选项把an illness or a physical condition放在了not 和 so much  之间，使得句子十分confuse，也不符合惯用语法。

此外，problem后面的that在语法上是定语从句，修饰problem。但逻辑上却需要其修饰insomnia。去掉that，而改用逗号则能解决这个问题。

多谢。语法很烂。
但是fungi应该是可数名词吧，只不过属于单复数变化特殊的哪一类而已。所以我觉得还是可以用are的，当然，are的位置不对。我理解
第二个，你说的“not so much .... as ”，但是后面并没有出现as啊。现在我看看a确实太复杂了。然而e还是不那么convincing。

嗯，我百度了一下，fungi的确是可数的，抱歉。

关于E中的as，有一种说法是not so much as 的 as 可以用but来代替：
