GWD3-Q19:
Possible long-term consequences of the “greenhouse effect,” the gradual warming of the Earth’s climate, may include melting the polar ice caps and a rising sea level.
A.may include melting the polar ice caps and a rising sea level
B.may include the melting of polar ice caps and the rising sea level
C.may include polar ice caps that are melting and sea levels that are rising
D.include melting the polar ice caps and sea levels that are rising
E.include melting of the polar ice caps and a rise in sea level
答案是E，我选了B。
看了下GWD的解释，解释上说抽象的名词和具体的名词是不能并列的。B中the melting是抽象名词，the sea level是具体名词，因此不能并列。E中meltting和rise都是抽象名词，可以并列。做OG和PREP的时候还没有遇到过这样的考点，所以请教NN这样的解释是正确的吗？有抽象名词与具体名词不能并列的规则么？
另外如果选B，possible和后面的may是否存在语义重复呢？我个人觉得是不存在的，possible是形容温室效应可能的结果，而后面的may指的是该可能存在的结果可能带来的影响，两者的用法不存在重复。比如：明天可能去看场电影，那场电影可能会精彩。
请各位大大不吝赐教~~~

其实我不认为possible和may是语义重复的

a rising sea level ：前面加了a,不对应

B.may include the melting of polar ice caps and the rising sea level
melting of polar ice caps 因为of，成名词形式
rising sea level： v+n 某个动作，非名词形式

C.may include polar ice caps that are melting and sea levels that are rising

虽然两个对应，但是比较罗索，可以先留着

D.include melting the polar ice caps and sea levels that are rising

melting the polar ice caps v the n
sea levels that are rising 明显不对应

E.include melting of the polar ice caps and a rise in sea level
melting of the polar ice caps ：of引带的名词形式表述
a rise in sea level a+ 也是名词形式表述吧

再比C和E，E比较简介，选E。

不知道自己想的对不对。

这里rising应该是现在分词做修饰成分来修饰sea level，所以这应该算是一个名词成分。所以我想这里是不是前后不对称，melting of polar ice caps 对称的应该是rise in sea level。
关于C，是偏离了原文的说法呢。may include polar ice caps that are melting and sea levels that are rising 这里include的对象是polar和sea level，而原文include的对象是melting和rise。
所以从完全对称上来看，似乎也就E好一点了。

我做白勇语法解析的时候也有遇到过 the possibility of ... is probably... 可是这个是对的。同样对语义重复困惑。。

还是可以勉强对应，但是肯定没有E的描述对应哈。读着很不顺。。。至少E前面还有a 来加强对应的感觉。

possible 和 may 在这里就是重复因为它们修饰的是同一个句子同一个成分都是为了表达温室效应“可能”会产生的结果只需要一个表达可能就可以了所以 ABC 都错你说的明天可能去看电影电影可能会很精彩两个可能修饰的是不同的主语但是这里两个可能都是为 consequences 服务的~

possible 和 may 在这里就是重复因为它们修饰的是同一个句子同一个成分都是为了表达温室效应“可能”会产生的结果只需要一个表达可能就可以了所以 ABC 都错你说的明天可能去看电影电影可能会很精彩两个可能修饰的是不同的主语但是这里两个可能都是为 consequences 服务的~

感谢分析~好像是有点理解了，这里may include应该是用来解释consequence的，也就是说这个consequence本来就是一种可能性。前面再加上possible就是redundant了。
