Hi,IMO, there are at least two problems with A)

1st: "and dated at 34 million years old"
Which part of the sentence does this phrase modify? If we follow the rule of parallelism, it should modify sloth, since "dated" is made to paralleled to "found". However, it doesn't really make sense to say that the sloth is 34million years old. Fossiles can be 34m years old, but a sloth can't be.

2nd: let's take a closer look at the 1st part of A). "fossils of a sloth found..., and dated at 34m yrs..." This writing style is really awkward, and GMAT hates it. It will be much better to write "Fossils of a sloth found in PR in 1991 and dated at 34 m yrs old" instead of "Fossils of a sloth found..., and dated at...". This is a writing style issue, so make sure that you understand what kind of styles that GMAT likes and hates.
