选C，但是为什么A不对呢？谢谢谢谢。。。

A中的指代有问题的，第一个they指代的是robots，第二个their指代的是researchers。太混淆了，所以就不对。

不同意楼上.

在一个句子里, they和their的指代是可以不同的.
但A的确错在指代上, they到底指代researchers还是robots?

个人觉得， then不对，要并列应该是and then吧~ 然后doing也不对，不构成平行。另外，分号后面不是一个句子...

then responding to them 把原意表达并列关系的变成了伴随关系，改变原意了。
而且。答案是c。。
