(B) it was only the second that an American woman published

(C) the second one only published by an American woman

(D) the second one only that an American woman published
(E) only the second published by an American woman

答案选E，only放在前面，我选了C，想请教一下only的用法啊~~~

在这题里，only是做形容词修改the second的。C和D选项改变了only位置从而改变了修饰对象，改变了原句的合理意思。A和B形式不对称。

关于only的用法，我就谈谈我的体会，我觉得only这个词很容易随着位置的改变而改变，所以only的使用必须要弄清楚修饰关系，only和被强调的成分捆绑在一起在句子中变动。

意思都变了，而且这句强调的就是第一，第二。
