In the five years since the opening of Colson’s, a non-discount department store, a new store has opened at the location of every store in the shopping district that closed because it could not compete with Colson’s.

粗体的B是正选，题目我是明白了，看了解释后明白了为什么选B。但我还是有点儿不明白C。我对C选项的理解是，现在，中心购物区已经的经营的商店已经达到有史以来的峰值了(as many as it ever had)。那么就是暗示说，容不下更多的商店了，那么就不可能在那些vacant上再开店了，从而削弱了原文中的类比论据。不知道我的理解错在哪里，怎么都转不过弯儿来。还请各位指点一下。谢谢诶！

这个题我觉得超级变态的！！转了好几个弯。

到达了峰值也可能是因为population现在很高之类的原因。。将来店的数量也有可能更高来填补那些vacant是将来即将关闭的店吧我是这么理解的

文章借用了carlson的例子说一个很牛逼的carlson store open之后五年内，被丫打败的所有store原址上都新建起来了新的store；所以发散一下，说SpendLess open之后，还是会有无畏者在被它击败的商店原址上开店的！

看起来这个发散就已经有问题了，carlson是个非打折store，spendless是个打折store，所以这个发散本身逻辑上就有问题。

为什么B把这个推理又弱化了呢，因为B说了，carlson周围新建起来的都是discount store，这下好了，更不能推了，discount store是搞不过spendless的呀，因为原有的discount store都被spendless打败了，再建一批就更不可能了。

这个削弱就好比，两对夫妇，大家猜他们的儿子长得像不像，已知俩爸爸长得很不一样，后来又发现，两个妈妈一个是美国人，一个是中国人，更不可能一样了，所以小孩更不可能长得像了

怎么这表述看着应该出现在SC里才对啊

不能和sl竞争因为是discount
不能和c竞争因为不是discount

C is wrong because there is no upper limit on the number of stores in the area. Whoever can survive would stay. Look at Beijing. Who knows how many more new stores could be set up there! Every year the number of stores operating there will be a record!
