选E，但是每次我遇到D和E的时候总是搞不清。

497 investors base their choice 是comparison(对比结果），而comparing（doing强调比较的过程）
498 are chiseled from solid rock centuries ago.时态不对，E many of them chiseled from solid rock centuries ago做独立主格
501 习惯用法 regard....as
consider sth sth

我觉得啊
497是因为base on， base sth. on sth. 前一个sth. 是bonds and stocks 后一个sth.就应该是comparisons
498有没有可能是答案错了啊！我也觉得选D是对的，如果选E的话，就跟A是一样的了，只不过是前后两句的位置换了。而且逗号连接了两套主谓，E肯定不对啊。
501consider是可以加as的，至少我们初中高中是这么学的。但我自己总结的原则是如果原句当中的词没有用错的话，就不要换词，因为换词是会改变原句的语气和意思的。regard..as...在原句中并没有用错，所以还是应该保留regard。

comparation of A with B, compare A with B , compare between A and B 都是对的。
consider that也对，但是consider that是考虑（think）的含义，不是认为
