157.Balzac drank more than fifty cups of coffee a day and died of caffeine poisoning; furthermore, caffeine did not seem to bother Samuel Johnson, the great writer and lexicographer, who was reported to have drunk twenty-five cups of tea at one sitting.

(A) furthermore, caffeine did not seem to bother

(B) however, caffeine did not seem to bother

(C) however, caffeine did not seem to have bothered

(D) furthermore, caffeine did not seem to have bothered（B）

(E) in addition, caffeine did not seem to bother

为什么C不对呢？有说法是seem to have done没这个用法，但又有人找到了例子说有。。。困惑。。。谢谢大家了~~

为什么C不对呢？有说法是seem to have done没这个用法，但又有人找到了例子说有。。。困惑。。。谢谢大家了~~

did not seem to have bothered的用法肯定是有的，用了Have bothered是把时态往前提了一层，其写法表达的意思是，have bothered发生在seem之前，而逻辑上seem和bother的发生时间是一致的，并不存在bother发生在seem之前，所以应该直接用seem to bother。
