A中的while应该会产生歧义吧，同时和虽然。记得是OG上说的，...,while...时。可答案选A.谁能解释下。

B: the remainder of 9 inches 作主，谓动用单数，所以应该是 contributes

C: transpiration 作主，谓动用单数，所以应该是returns

D: with +n. +to do错误，with的独立主格形式为：

with +n. +n./adj/-ed/-ing

E.transpiration 作主，谓动用单数，所以应该是returns

我觉得根据原文的意思，这两个过程是同时发生的，所以用while是正确的，其实每个词（包括汉语）都有好多个含义，如果都抠得这么细的话，那就没有正确的句子了。每个词只要在上下文的语境中能够表达出该意思就是正确的；while在这里不管是当“在。。时候”或是表示转折，都不会影响句子表达的意思。再者，即使把这个while算是一个错误，那么A选项也是这五个选项中错误的最少的一个，我们不应该选它吗？

while 表示同时最常见的是while doing
while+句子一般都表示虽然吧，逻辑上。

個人認為while在這是表達對比的涵意,所以用even though 或是 although 則改變句意
