As the former chair of the planning board for 18 consecutive years and a board member for 28 years, Joan Philkill attended more than 400 meetings and reviewed more than 700 rezoning applications.
(A) As the former
(B) The former
(C) Former
(D) She was
(E) As the 為什麼(A) 不合邏輯? simple past tense(attended, reviewd) 一定有繼續有機會進行的含意嗎? 我選(A)不選(E)的原因是(E)改變了原來的意思. 請指教. 作者: 2008115061 时间: 2010-8-16 17:33
Four faults 1. Logically:The sentence is logically wrong because as a so called "former ", this guy can no way attend any meetings or any reviewed the apllications
2. Take a look at the B,C, and A. These three choices are almost no different
3. Then it goes to the parallelism. "the chair of" and "a board member of " is perfectly paralleled.
4. The omission of the "former" doesn't distort the meaning of the sentence as a whole, since whether he is a "former" boss doesn't change the number of meetings he attended. So to some extent the "former" is a little bit redundant
