标题: 关于逗号（，）+现在分词的修饰问题--OG12-1、26、30、47、59、66
关于逗号+现在分词的问题琢磨了若干天，翻看了若干语法书和帖子。
现在把我的假设写上，等待大家的板砖。哈
“句子，+ing”有3种用法：
1、定语：Ing就近修饰逗号前名词，有核心词时常跳跃指代
2、状语：表补充伴随动作，状态，功能，与句子谓语同时发生，逻辑主语等于句子主语
3、状语：表结果，整个句子是逻辑主语表原因，导致分词动作产生。
注：只有现在分词在句子中作1、2用法都不产生逻辑错误的情况下，才可以用。第3种用法根据句子逻辑意思判断，应该一眼可以看出。
下面按照我的这个假设验证一下OG12的变态语法题。

1、原句：The Glass House Mountains in Queensland, Australia, were sighted in 1770 by the English navigator Captain James Cook, by whom they were named supposedly because its sheer wet rocks glistened like glass.
涉及此问题的是c：naming them supposedly since their
OG解释：Captain James Cook不是句子的主语，他是by的介词宾语。所以-ing不是修饰它而是修饰Mountains
我的解释：ing虽然形式上作定语可以修饰Captain James Cook，作状语修饰主句表伴随，但作伴随会有逻辑错误。所以不能选c

26、原句：Emily Dickinsons letters to Susan Huntington Dickinson were written over a period beginning a few years before Susan’s marriage to Emily’s brother and ending shortly before Emily’s death in 1886, outnumbering her letters to anyone else.
涉及此问题的是原句
OG解释：outnumber的修饰对象不明确
我的解释：outnumbering如做定语就近有太多的单词，无法从逻辑上讲通。所以A错。

30、原句：
For members of the seventeenth-century Ashanti nation in Africa, animal-hide shields with wooden frames were essential items of military equipment, a method to protect warriors against enemy arrows and spears.
涉及此问题的是C:protecting
OG解释：protecting修饰items
我的解释：ptotecting在句子即可作定语修饰item，也可作伴随状语修饰主句。而且逻辑上都可以讲通，没问题。

47、是典型的第三种作结果状语的用法，OG对E选项的解释非常的一目了然。

59、原句：The Olympic Games helped to keep peace among the pugnacious states of the Greek world in that a sacred truce was proclaimed during the festival's month
涉及此问题的是B：world, proclaiming a sacred truce during the festival's month
OG解释是：proclaiming即可修饰GAMES又可修饰STATE
我的解释：proclaiming作定语可以修饰STATE,逻辑上没问题。但是如果做补充伴随的状语修饰games逻辑上就讲不通了，所以有歧义，错误。

66的B、C选项与59题是一模一样类型的错误，不详细说了

以上是我总结的方法，实话实说是不得已为之，应该是针对30题做的假设，然后应用到其他题目上。还要说一声，我观察逗号+过去分词一般是就近修饰。希望大家能玩命拍砖直到找到最好的办法对付这种题型。

刚才搜OG12 第47题搜到这个帖子，觉得LZ讲得非常好，解开了我对现在分词修饰上的很多困惑

只是可惜回复很少...不知道LZ讲得是不是真的很对呢？请各位NN指点

在OG上找到了一题,正是用",Ving"修饰前面紧邻的名词的.

OG12-65:
In a plan to stop the erosion of East Coast beaches,
the Army Corps of Engineers proposed building
parallel to shore a breakwater of rocks that would rise
six feet above the waterline and act as a buffer, so
that it absorbs the energy of crashing waves and
protecting the beaches.
(A) act as a buffer, so that it absorbs
(B) act like a buffer so as to absorb
(C) act as a buffer, absorbing
(D) acting as a buffer, absorbing
(E) acting like a buffer, absorb

正确答案是C,这里的absorbing ... and protecting修饰的就是前面的buffer哈
