标题: as a result of 和resulting from 的区别

as a result of 不一定只能放在句尾吧。

我觉得as a result of 做状语,

As a result of medical advances, many people  who might once have died in childhood of such infections as diphtheria, pneumonia, or rheumatic fever now live well into old age.

Europe’s travel industry is suffering as a result of a sluggish economy, a stretch of bad weather.......这里as a result of ...修饰Europe's..industry is suffering.

At the beginning of the year, the city allocated $150 million to cover the increase in wages that it expected to approve as a result of negotiations with the municipal labor unions. 这里as a result of...修饰前面的 it expected to approve the increase in wages.

Once common throughout the Western plains, black-footed ferrets are thought to have declined in number as a result of the poisoning of prairie dogs, their prey. 这里as a result of 是修饰动词decline还是修饰句子呢?

The current administration, worried about the removal of some foreign trade barriers and the failure of our exports to increase as a result of deep cuts in the value of the dollar, has formed a group to study ways to sharpen our competitiveness.这里as a result of 修饰increase 还是句子?

Under the new corporate insurance policy, when an employer is charged for damages to a third party wholly or largely as a result of actions by an employee, he is entitled to recoup the amount of the damages.这里as a result of 修饰be charged还是句子?

In A.D. 391, resulting from the destruction of the largest library of the ancient world at Alexandria, later generations lost all but the Iliad and Odyssey among Greek epics, most of the poetry of Pindar and Sappho, and dozens of plays by Aeschylus and Euripides.

Contrary to earlier conjectures, it may be that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a result of burning fossil fuels would cool the globe by reducing the amount of solar energy absorbed by snow.

(A) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a result of burning

(B) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide resulting from the combustion of 这里B是正确答案.

而且我本来考虑:如果把A选项改成increased atmosphere carbon dioxide as a result of the combustion of可以吗? 因为as a result of.. 只能用resulting from...

I think the phrase modifies "decline"

The current administration, worried about the removal of some foreign trade barriers and the failure of our exports to increase as a result of deep cuts in the value of the dollar, has formed a group to study ways to sharpen our competitiveness.这里as a result of 修饰increase 还是句子?

modifies the failure of.... (the removal of some foreign trade barriers) and (the failure of our exports to increase as a result of deep cuts in the value of the dollar)

Under the new corporate insurance policy, when an employer is charged for damages to a third party wholly or largely as a result of actions by an employee, he is entitled to recoup the amount of the damages.这里as a result of 修饰be charged还是句子?

modifies "damage"

A is not right not because "as a result" is not right but because "burning" is an action not an result.

而且我本来考虑:如果把A选项改成increased atmosphere carbon dioxide as a result of the combustion of可以吗? 因为as a result of.. 只能用resulting from...

juan MM.关于你说的这几道题as a result of的修饰对象,我同意weiyu的意见

The current administration, worried about the removal of some foreign trade barriers and the failure of our exports to increase as a result of deep cuts in the value of the dollar, has formed a group to study ways to sharpen our competitiveness.这里as a result of 修饰increase 还是句子?

modifies the failure of.... (the removal of some foreign trade barriers) and (the failure of our exports to increase as a result of deep cuts in the value of the dollar)  ----这题我本来也是象你这么想的,因为从逻辑意思很容易判断出来.可是我查字典说as a result of 是副词短语,那么副词短语能修饰名词the failure吗?

Under the new corporate insurance policy, when an employer is charged for damages to a third party wholly or largely as a result of actions by an employee, he is entitled to recoup the amount of the damages.这里as a result of 修饰be charged还是句子?

modifies "damage" ----这题也一样,副词短语as a result of 能修饰名词damages吗?

Contrary to earlier conjectures, it may be that increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a result of burning fossil fuels would cool the globe by reducing the amount of solar energy absorbed by snow.

(A) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide as a result of burning

(B) increased atmospheric carbon dioxide resulting from the combustion of 这里B是正确答案.

A is not right not because "as a result" is not right but because "burning" is an action not an result.

正因为我查字典查到as a result of是副词短语,所以觉得这里A即使改成carbon dioxide as a result of the combustion of也是不对的,因为副词不能修饰名词。

看来问题在于我把as a result of看成是副词短语。我查了金山,只说是副词,查了longman,说是==because of something happened。那么because of 可做副词,可做介词,我是不是该理解成as a result of可做介词短语呢?如果as a result of是介词短语的话,上面的修饰就都没问题了.盼望确认.

marie MM:如果理解成as + 名词a result的话,就可以把as理解成介词,那么上面weiyu说的as a result of 修饰名词的问题就迎刃而解了。
