B选项中OG说：the modifier when they do appear is misplaced.
对比B和正确选项E，时间状语从句when they do appear都放在misinterpret them (B为misinterpreting ones)后面，说likely放错还差不多；
另外，C里面把miss和misinterpret并列起来作为signs的谓语，本应该修饰misinterpret的when they do appear变成修饰miss和misinterpret，在这里说when they do appear放错位置还差不多。
总结到现在，偶窃以为给OG写SC解释的人有虎头蛇尾之嫌，越写越马虎，越简洁，他倒是简洁了，我们可就找不着北了~ 基于这一点，会不会有这样的可能性，when they do appear is misplaced应该放在C选项里呢？

A makes it likely to miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpret them when they do appear 中 when they do appear做them的宾语补足语 整个misinterpret~appear和 miss~trouble是并列的 B makes missing signs of incipient trouble or misinterpreting ones likely when they do appear可简化为 makes...like 而后面的 when they do appear就是修饰前面的missing & misinterpreting两件事了 而when they do appear的本意是只修饰misinterpret them C 的情况和B差不多 E is likely to make an executive miss signs of incipient trouble or misinterpret them when they do appear可以简化为 is likely to make sb miss or misinterpret 这里面miss signs of incipient trouble 和 misinterpret them when they do appear 是并列的 所以when they do appear还是修饰misinterpret them中的them的 不知道分析的对不对 对于SC来说 我也是新手 呵呵 作者: sheikh239 时间: 2010-8-18 23:50
一般有歧义的指代优先考虑最近项,C中的they 应该是修饰的signs,而且逻辑上也只有signs才会appear
1)状语的位置不对,signs of...其实真正的被修饰词是signs,后接状语,中间不应该出现likely,且其用法错误,应该为be likely to的结构.
