说这道题是矛盾题，在A和B之间选择，可是前面的主语不是costs(复数)吗？应该不能用it指代吧？

这道题后面的补出主谓也应该是those did 吧？？或者 those had done???为什么xdf还在A中犹豫呢？？

感觉they还是it都不行吧因为they和it都指向costs-1992 是不能in any previous election的

我选的B, A是错的，costs 不可以用单数is
另外关于than的用法有两个，要么倒装要么省略
倒装:bla bla bla than were they bla bla bla
省略：bla bla bla than (they) (were) bla bla bla
()()内容都可省略，变型成a greater proportion than were in any previous election 或者 a greater proportion than they in any previous election, 或者a greater proportion than in any previous election
举例：I am taller than (I) possibly could (be).

it 指代的是more than half 吧？a greater portion也是指的大于50%吧？
