我选的A，正确答案为D。问A中of为什么不需要啊？？？

A和D相比最明显的错误就是后面的their和its，前面都用了each，后面怎么还能用their呢？

我不是牛牛。我的解题思路是这样的。each是不能对应their的，因此排除ABE. C中既然作为定语从句就不能出现contributing，否则没有谓语。因此选D。
我个人认为，and前后处于平行关系，of可以省略，也可以不省略。在OG上，有类似问题，OG的解释一般是由于understood的原因（我觉得是不产生歧义），of这类介词就省略了。

我觉得the combined gravitational pull of the Sun and all the other planets这里of省略完全是因为前面的combined（联合的，共同的），说明这个重力是靠太阳和其他行星一起产生的。如果all the other planets前面也加上of，那么逻辑意思就变成了：太阳自己的combined gravitational pull，和其他行星共同产生的重力，显然逻辑意思不对啊。

我觉得the combined gravitational pull of the Sun and all the other planets这里of省略完全是因为前面的combined（联合的，共同的），说明这个重力是靠太阳和其他行星一起产生的。如果all the other planets前面也加上of，那么逻辑意思就变成了：太阳自己的combined gravitational pull，和其他行星共同产生的重力，显然逻辑意思不对啊。
