答案是E:
我基本上可以锁定D 和E, 也知道E的not bothering 用法别扭，只是我感觉D后面省略了If 和其他条件成分更奇怪，按照我对意思的还原，A scrub jay能记住它什么时间把。。放在了那里，（研究者已经证实这一点), 也可以（记得）是否需要费事再把腐烂的食物再处理一次(bother recovering a perishable treat)，如果食物放的太长已经腐烂了(stroed long enough to have rotted).（另外，要注意后面两端中间没有逗号，是连接在一起的)

我越做越晕，请高手帮忙解答一下吧，为什么省略？省略了什么？谢谢。

tend+doing，似乎没有这样的用法把

能不能从语法上帮忙讲解这个句子的后半段：

tends not to bother recovering a perishable treat （stored long enough to have rotted.）

好奇怪的结构，好像是省略掉了内容，省略了什么呢？？？

即一个放置时间太久以至于开始腐烂的perishable treat
