The annual rent collected by a corporation from a certain building was x percent more in 1998 than in 1997 and y percent less in 1999 than in 1998. Was the annual rent collected by the corporation from the building more in 1999 than in 1997?
(1)    x > y
(2)    < x – y

A. Statement (1) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (2) alone is not sufficient.
B. Statement (2) ALONE is sufficient, but statement (1) alone is not sufficient.
C. BOTH statements TOGETHER are sufficient, but NEITHER statement ALONE is sufficient.
D. EACH statement ALONE is sufficient.
E. Statements (1) and (2) TOGETHER are NOT sufficient.

小妹觉得选A 但是答案给的是B，所以上来问问

思路：设1997年的rent 是a ,1998 的为b，1999为 c

则由题干得：b=a(1+x) b=c（1-y）

连列： a(1+x)=c(1-y) 则：c/a=(1+x)/(1-y)

由(1)知道1+x>100% 1-y<100% 所以比值是大于1的，所以可得

条件二是 x-y > ？？

话说我也觉得条件一是对的呀。。。等NN解答

97年：a
98年：b
99年：c

b=(1+x)a
c=(1-y)b

=> c/a = (1+x)(1-y)

=> if c/a >1 ( i.e. rent was more in 99 than in 97.) <=> (1+x)(1-y)>1 <=> x> y/(1-y)

so (1) is not sufficient for the conclusion

what is (2)?

3楼做出的c/a应该是=(1+x%)(1-y%)...然后用这个和1比大小..
做差: 1+x%-y%-x%*y%-1=x%-y%-x%*y%...用这个和0比大小...

条件1啥也推不出来...
条件2变形一下..两边都除以100之后得: xy/10000<x%-y%...再变形就是x%*y%<x%-y%..再斗挪到不等号右边就得出那个做差的结果大于0了...就说明c/a>1了..就做出来了..
