Most of the buildings on the block would then have to be demolished. Because these buildings were erected decades ago, they have historic significance and must therefore be preserved as economic assets in the effort to revitalize a restored riverfront area. Recall how Lakesburg has benefited from business increases in its historic downtown center. Moreover, there is plenty of vacant land for a parking lot elsewhere in River City.”

1、既然他们有历史价值，为什么又说要拆掉他们呢？
2、they have historic significance and must therefore be preserved as economic assets in the effort to revitalize a restored riverfront area，既然是历史价值，为什么must therefore be preserved as economic asset？历史和economic asset有什么关系吗 ？搞不懂··

Lakesburg和River City具有很强的可比性吗？ 4、there is plenty of vacant land for a parking lot elsewhere in River City 可以随便找空地建停车场？停车场的选址需要考虑的不只是vacant land，还有利用率。。。
