a critique of all chemistry since Robert Boyle 就是“一个对自从Robert Boyle开始的化学界的批评”
我理解成大概这么个意思。我想这个RB应该是个标志性的人物吧。。这里chemistry我随便翻成化学界的。可能含义有偏差。但是我觉得大概意思应该是这样的。

答案是选A的，这样的结构很少见，ls的解释有点明白，不过考试遇到这样的结构还是会发懵的。

since表示从过去一直到现在的化学，跟后面某人将提出的新东西构成完美的比较，很对称很美

B、C、D里面都有and，所以是考察平行结构。

B里面 a critique和his envisioning不平行

C、D同理

E是逻辑错误，crtiquing的对象可以是chemistry，但怎么能够是his own……呢？

following是不包含RB在内的。

而from表一个时间到另外一个时间段是可以的，表从某人到某人，又以人为时间分界就很奇怪。

since后面接一个名词n，表示从n以来发生的。如The percentage increase in reported crime this year is the highest since the war。这里since后面接了一个人名，而且是一个知名的人，我想，他是可以代表一个年代的，从这个人的时期就开始就存在的 a critique of all chemistry 。
