raising 是that/which be raising 的省略形式，可修饰tourists 或moisture

逻辑上：
moisture raises the humidity

语法上：
raising 是that/which be raising 的省略形式，可修饰tourists 或moisture

逻辑上：
moisture raises the humidity

你的意思是从语法上来讲，raising既可以修饰moisture也可以修饰tourists，对吧？
那如果是修饰moisture那么后面的them就不可能指代tourists了，因为此时tourists是修饰语中介词by的宾语，但是OG说这里的them是修饰tourists的，那么我认为这里OG应该是认为raising是修饰tourists的，此时tourists做从句的主语是可以用them指代的

是呀如果是限定型定语从句跳跃修饰，那么关系代词是不能省略的。例如：OG12-126，里面那个that就是跳跃修饰，不能省略。

再补充一下，og-126里面对C选项的解释，说明了如果是跳跃修饰不能省略关系代词。 This construction is lesssuccessful at

creating seems to referback to lying; if used
as a participial, creating would have to be
preceded by a comma.

主谓宾，过去分词...过去分词是怎么可能修饰宾语呢？？如56题的A选项

那么due to在语法上是没错的，只是因为GMAT不喜欢它吗？以后题目是不是看到就不选了，还有，OG的解释有时候是不是不够的啊，比如A里的which，我觉得意思上应该指代moisture，但是就近原则他不就指代tourists了吗？但是答案里也没说which对不对，还是说就近指代不一定成立？

2：那么对于一连串的因果关系来说，应该怎么表达，怎么安排各个因果的顺序呢？because后面一定要加直接原因吗？比如a推出b，b推出c，c推出d，那么这四个事件中，按照题目的意思，应该是d because c对吗？而不可以是d because a、b这种表达？

3：如果第二个问题是对的，那么金字塔被清理的直接原因不该是moisture啊，应该是结晶和真菌啊！！！why！！！

why?
如果用due to, 跟because of 一样，它修饰的重心在它后面的一个词语上，也就是moistue。说明是因为moisture才需要cleaning&repair。
但是再仔细看后面的句子，说的是moisture exhaled by thourists, which raised their humidity to such levels that salt from the stone was cystallinzing. 逻辑关系很明确，是因为moisture导致了salt cystallize，才需要清理的。句子的重心并非是moisture，它只是其中作为媒介的一个诱导结果的因素而已。due to 无法表达出这样的逻辑关系。

D選項：because of是介詞，不引導從句，所以地位比主句就低一級了（這是我自己的說法）
because of（介詞） moisture （接下來解釋什麽moisture）that was exhaled by tourists [raising the humidity] （修飾tourists，也就是和tourists同一級別，不屬於主句的）within them. 所以them就出現了可能指代tourists的歧義

E選項：because moisture（從句的主語）exhaled by tourists（後置定語，對於找從句主幹而言，是可以忽略的）had raised the humidity（到這裡為止，because引導的從句的主謂賓就完整了）within them（因為tourists不屬於主句，也不是從句的主要部份，所以them指代不到它那裡去，就只能在主從句的主語或賓語里找對象，就只有chambers是複數）。
不要看were closed to visitors..the chambers were closed，主句就講完了

是看完大家的討論，然後自己試著分析這樣而已~

现在分词在句尾，只能做伴随啊，做伴随动作或状态的话，逻辑主语是其修饰的句子的主语；做伴随结构的话，无逻辑主语，因为其修饰的整个句子是导致伴随的原因
D项的错因：
because of使用不合理，主要原因不是moisture，而是moisture exhaled by tourist；them指代tourists，不正确，因为raising the humidity within them是作that从句的状语，所以现在分词短语中的代词理应先指代that从句中的名词，即tourists，因为如果主句In late 1997, the chambers inside the pyramid of the Pharaoh Menkaure at Giza were closed to visitors for cleaning and repair是第一级，that从句that was exhaled by tourists是第二级，that从句的修饰成分raising the humidity within them to levels so high as to make the salt from the stone crystallize and fungus was growing on the walls是第三级的话，that从句修饰成分中的代词怎么能跨过that从句这一级直接指代到主句中的成分呢？；and前后结构不平行；
