想问一下这题为什么不选A呢？还有nearly开头的句子能做主语吗？？比如像of,although这种开头的句子就不能做主语。

我认为是时态的问题，vanishing强调的是一种逐渐一直进行的过程，但是看题目的意思是99%已经消失了
