In B, as if is introduced awkwardly and (in context) unidiomatically between seem and the infinitive. Also, with that omitted, B is ungrammatical. Choices D and E, with of substituted for that, are likewise ungrammatical: of, a preposition, can introduce a phrase, but not a clause.

刚查了merriam webster，seem 后面跟like并不是不恰当。seem后可以跟不定式、从句、phrase（还包括as if/as though）。
seem的意思和用法 1 : to appear to be something or to do something. ? She seemed happy. —often followed by to + verb ? Her story seems to be true. —often used in the phrases (seem like, seem as if, and seem as though) ? He seems like a nice man. = He seems (to be) a nice man. It seemed as if/though the work would never end.
2 —used with it to make a statement about what appears to be true based on what is known ? It seems (that) they forgot about the meeting.
3 —used to make a statement less definite or more polite —followed by to + verb ? I seem to remember that you said you'd help me. —often used in negative statements ? I can't seem to solve the problem. [=I have tried to solve the problem, but I can't]
个人认为这个题目，A的问题是没有agreement；B的问题是在as if 后面没有跟一个完整的句子，跟了infinitive导致结构不完整；D和E的of不能引导后面的从句。作者: yiweiayumi 时间: 2011-1-26 00:48

我觉得要用to indicate that，那么多余的应该是as if；一定都都要用上的话，后面先加上indicate对应的主语，让那一部分结构完整，the figures seem as if it indicates...但是会显得不太简洁。 个人意见！作者: evelyn205205 时间: 2011-1-26 22:19
lz就记住seems to do这个搭配吧，其他的都啰嗦了 越简洁正确的表达就是最好的表达
