关于D,E的取舍，前人讨论多集中在those的指代和assist的用法上。我想问另外一个问题：如D所示，此apparently assisting flies to 。。形式的逻辑主语是什么？是hydrocarbons还是courtship？若是courtship则有指代不清之嫌啊，若是H,那么怎么可能翻译为 H 协助苍蝇吃了H？
故我选了没有这个问题的E。
求点拨

1.assist习语搭配不正确,assist ……in……
2.those没有指代对象，即使改为that，也不正确
3.如楼主所述，句子表述错误，H无法发出帮助动作，只能说在Flies发出distinguishing 动作中起到辅助作用。
PS 又见DOTA达人 而且是大后期

我想请问下，关于第二点，是"those"没有指代对象，还是应为指代模糊。因为无法判定"those"是指代"hydrocarbons", "mates" or "species"中的某一个?

我想请问下，关于第二点，是"those"没有指代对象，还是应为指代模糊。因为无法判定"those"是指代"hydrocarbons", "mates" or "species"中的某一个?

others=other species 所以Those这里多余了

很明显答案是D，E中第一个that指代flies，但后面的their指代却又歧义：句子之前可有flies、hydrocarbons ，到底指代什么？在gmat中出现了两个可指代的，错。
另外distinguish A from B
distinguish between A and B
所以很明显D正确

assist files to taste... to distinguish..., to distinguish 是 to taste的目的, to taste是assist files去做的动作...
those of others = species of others 与 their species并列
不知道这样理解对么

others已可以表示other species,如再加those of 则变成了species of other species,显多余

所以很明显D正确
谁说出现两个可指代的就错了？白勇语法明确说，复数代词they和单数代词it，在句子中如果有两个以上的指代，优先指代离它最近的单词。 如果逻辑错误才错。
本题their指代离他近的苍蝇，逻辑上没有问题。that也是修饰苍蝇的。

你去看og， 优先归优先，但却会有歧义的，这就是为什么在gmat考试，选项中有新名词名词出现，90%以上是正确答案

而且E中说distinguishing their own species from others，到底有说明others 哪方面呢？
