Longman上面说到了appear用法，有appear to do, it appears that, appear to be something, 意思是seem就是看起来的样子，我觉得更多强调的是出场时候的状态而不是一个客观存在了很久的事实，比如XX穿着什么衣服或者以什么身份登场可以用appear，但是如果是太阳黑子用不对，因为太阳黑子是一个客观存在的事实，只能被表述成visible的作者: ozymendias 时间: 2010-6-10 10:58

appear as是没有问题的，是正确的idiom用法
