题目选出答案是没有问题的，答案是e。
可是C选项中的them，og给的解释是指代不清。Th e reference of them is unclear and the expression is generally awkward

我的看法是：them前面只有一个复数名词people(单复数同型)，逻辑上也是指代的people,为什么会指代不清啊？

求NN来指点迷津啊~

第二就是在C里面因为many of them are 是一个新的独立的句子，这句话里的主语是them，因此them应该指向上一句话的主语，但是上一句话的主语是laos是个地方，单数，所以them无指代
至于你说的them指代people的问题，因为many of them引导的是一个独立的句子，因此them作为主语应当优先指向前句话的主语，而不是people

同问，为啥c 选项的many of them 就指代不清，E 选项 MANY OF WHOM 就清楚指代了people? 有没有NN可以讲解一下代词指代和关系代词指代的用法的差异（在这题应运）。 thxthx

MM我想可能是这样的。

C选项不是run-on错误，but in Laos (with a population of only four million in population),many of them...but连接得不是好好的么
them的指代问题期待牛牛解答

Sentence Structure, Lao has X but Y, so X and Y must be made paralleled.

C) "Lao has (a land area blah blah blah), but (has) in Laos with a pop. blah blah" Both elements are not paralleled to each other; incorrect.

至于them的指代问题，这里面应该是指代后面的member或者tribes，所以指代不清，不能指代前面的people，因为它只是状语的一部分
