as 有比较的含义，或译为作为，as a student,本题中没有比较的含义，更不是作为，所以只能选A

但是这里的as可以是比较的意思啊，“像...一样”
就是虽然欧洲的气候是很潮湿的，但是图书馆不会遭受像美国一样的极端气候和潮湿带来的损害。。

这样说吧，B 、D are not subject of 没有这种说法；C和E中extremities用法不对，没有这种。

我来总结下自己对这道题的看法吧~ 若有不对希望帮忙指出

先分析下正确句子

阴影为修饰成分
划线为主句

B．because, although the climate in Europe is fairly humid, libraries there are not subject of the extremes of temperature and humidity as those that 我先也是错选了它，因为把subject当形容词了，然而subject of成了什么的主题的意思，也进一步证明了该选项的错误（做了很多题后发现很多错误的选项不止错一处）
C. because, although the climate in Europe is fairly humid, libraries there are not subjected to the extremities of temperature and humidity as OG中反复说过as后加clause，可后面未划线部分缺失主语
D. because the climate in Europe is fairly humid, but still libraries there are not subject of the extremes of temperature and humidity as与B C有同样的错，但逻辑混乱（but的使用）也加一条罪状-用正确选项里的让步句就不会照成这样的混乱

我也觉得！！！这怎么回事呢。。。。以前不是有个题，讲这个海啸不能影响到另一个地儿的海啸么。。。。

这道题，我明白不能是subject of......，也明白A是最佳选项。但是求问 A地的极端温度怎么能影响到B地？不应该是 those that。。。么？因为以前做过一道题就是根据这个排除的错误选项！不知道NN是否有印象？求牛牛帮助

我觉得这道题如果不纠结subject也能选出。
主要比较A和B项吧。
A:that是定于从句修饰extremes,这里是跨越修饰
B：从逻辑来看，应该是欧洲的图书馆与美国图书馆比，但B项中实际成了欧洲的图书馆与extremes比，those指代extremes。
以上是个人观点呐。。。

as作为像... 一样时，应该是连词，后跟句子，所以这里BCDE的as用法应该都是错的

1. be subjected to 受...限制，受...约束，固定搭配，要记住，BD秒杀。
2. C: AS在这里怎么翻译呢？表作为？像？对比？都不通，看句意，C排除。
3. E: such as those that读起来冗长。文章是想说：因为，虽然欧洲的气候是fairly humid, 但是这里的图书馆并不受这些extremes的限制。E的意思：因为欧洲的气候是fairly humid，但是这里的图书馆并不受这些extremes的限制。体会下意思。
4. A: damage是动词复数形式，可知that指代的是extremes，逻辑和指代都清晰，正确。

gmat不仅考语法，考习语，而且有些题是考意思的。如果结构没有问题，要看意思上是不是逻辑合理。

查了一下M-W词典. subject介个词可做noun, adjective, transitive verb.

顺从/效忠于它方的支配/权力
经受特定的义务或展露
有某种倾向或意愿
依偶发条件而定, 或受到某些未来行动的影响

作vt:

酱, subjected to可以表示"经受"的意思. subject of可以表示"...的主题"

这道题选A.
A. subjected to表述了"欧洲的图书馆没有经受给美国的图书馆馆藏品造成损害的极端温度和湿度".正确.
B. subject of表述了"欧洲的图书馆并不是给美国的图书馆馆藏品造成损害的极端温度和湿度的主题". 表达含义不对.
C. "欧洲的图书馆并不像美国的损害藏品". 表达含义不对.
D. 欧洲的图书馆藏书保留的时间长是因为没经受像影响美国图书馆馆藏的那些极端温度和湿度, 而不是因为"天气相当潮湿". 这里表达意思也不多. 同时这里也犯了B和C的问题.
E. 也犯了D的第一个问题. 另外, "欧洲的图书馆并没有经受极端温度和湿度, 诸如给美国的图书馆馆藏品造成损害的那些". 这里语义说得通, 但是和A相比, "给美国的图书馆馆藏品造成损害的极端温度和湿度"在A中是用来限定欧洲图书馆所承受的天气情况, 而在E这里是用来举一个栗子. 表达含义有所区别.

此外关于extremity, M-W词典里有这个词而且可以表示"a very great or extreme degree or amount of something", 这里似乎也是解释的通. 并没有问题.
而且在考试实战中通过区分extreme和extremity来筛选答案, 个人感觉可操作性并不强.

tthose无指代，指代的话，是extreme of tem of humidity, those知道什么？如果指代extremes的话，Tem 和humidity怎么办
