请问如果是preventing or inhibiting 和in reducing 平行的话，

那么besides -->besides in ? 介词in可以省略吗？

这里prevent, inhibit是主语leaves发出的动作，所以这两个动词是和后面的play并列的~~~不是和reduce~~~

原文里面in reducing。。。作为修饰role的部分，不是句子的谓语动词~~~所以不存在省略了in的问题~~
