Generally deer ticks pick up the bacterium while in the larval stage from feeding on infected white-footed mice. However, certain other species on which the larvae feed do not harbor the bacterium. Therefore, if the population of these other species were increased, the number of ticks acquiring the bacterium and hence the number of people contracting Lyme disease would likely decline. Which of the following, if true, most strengthens the argument?
A. Ticks do not suffer any adverse consequences from carrying the bacterium that causes Lyme disease in humans. B. There are no known cases of a human’s contracting Lyme disease through contact with white-footed mice. C. A deer tick feeds only once while in the larval stage. D. A single host animal can be the source of bacterium for many tick larvae. E. None of the other species on which deer tick larvae feed harbor other bacteria that ticks transmit to humans
给的答案是C, 但我觉得C是无关项 理由: 1.借鉴下别人说C对的理由,反驳下 答案是C
A deer tick feeds only once while in the larval stage
就算你能保证,但是因为if the population of
these other species were increased,因此就算吃了几顿饭,也不会有什么饥不择食的情况出现,这里the
population of these other species were increased没说只是吃第一顿饭的时候才出现的情况吧。
3.我的观点:加强假定 通过排除法选B,如果有human contracte Lyme disease through contact with white-footed mice,那么就会构成削
C. A deer tick feeds only once while in the larval stage. 它只吃一次,那么吃了other species之后,就不会再吃mice,那么other species数量增加之后,吃到mice的概率就降低了。那么the number of ticks acquiring the bacterium 和感染疾病的人 都降低了作者: 简小跳 时间: 2010-10-26 09:37
