答案是B，有点不大理解，请各位赐教

DE不平行，这个直接排除了。
再看ABC. 区别在后半句，the extent of 和extent to which 。extent to which 后面应该是从句，而the extent of 后面应该是动名词or名词短语or名词。按照意思来说的话，extent of poor currency exchange rates keeping
是现金交换率的程度，这交换率是降低公司利润的。the extent to which poor currency exchange rates are keeping 是现金交换率降低公司利润的程度。
显然后者要好。

A和C都是extent of 后面跟了完整的一个句子，这个GMAT好像是不愿意容忍的。

D和E则是不对称，前面是名词the success，后面的。。。算介词短语吧。肯定没有用the extent好。

我的回答和sunyan730其实是一样的，只是回的时候没看到他的帖子。

the extent of后面跟的是poor currency exchange rates keeping down profits for multinational companies。这其实已经是完整的主谓宾结构，其中的谓语是keeping，这样子就构成了最典型的错误 of sb. doing sth.这种情况可以认为必须用从句来代替，我似乎还没看到有例外的。

不过这个规则与of doing sth.需要区分开，因为of doing sth.不一定需要改为to do sth.

谁说一定不对，extent of 的用法到处都是。manhattan 28页的例子也有

只有'extent that'是一定错
不过这里the extent to which引导的从句逻辑上比较清晰

刚才看了下 extent to 和of 都对。。

A主要的错误：让rates to extent 而题目说的是 down到了什么程度。
这也是为什么非划线部分留了down这个原因。

跟 because of 和because 的区别很像

这道题划线部分和A有差，而且和GMATCLUB上的题也不太一样，感觉是变体
