正确答案是C。我不明白c选项中doubling和bringing为什么能并列。如果是并列的话，那more than……bringing怎么翻译？？望nn解答~O(∩_∩)O~谢谢

从语义上看的话，bringing 不是跟doubling 并列吧

是acquired 828,000 square miles for about four cents an acre和bringing its western border within reach of the Pacific Ocean.

这里我比较混乱~~晕啦 acquired……和bringing……并列的话，那 and 前后的形式不就不一致了么？为什么不是brought？？

我觉得lz所说是对的，bringing与doubling是并列的，不过more than只修饰doubling而已。他们作为主句的伴随状语表示结果。

呵呵~~more than 可以只修饰doubling而不修饰and后的bringing么？？嗯~~我又考虑了一下，有点想通了~~O(∩_∩)O~

我觉得是 doubling 跟bring都是在一起做伴随状语。它们共同一起修饰acquire;就是说随着谁谁acquire土地后，这个动作导致*****的boarder扩大到了什么什么海岸线。。。
