Red blood cells in which the malarial-fever parasite resides are eliminated from a person’s body after 120 days. Because the parasite cannot travel to a new generation of red blood cells, any fever that develops in a person more than 120 days after that person has moved to a malaria-free region is not due to the malarial parasite.
Which of the following, if true, most seriously weakens the conclusion above?
(D) In some cases, the parasite that causes malarial fever travels to cells of the spleen, which are less frequently eliminated from a person’s body than are red blood cells.

答案是D，但对D的解释OG是，Th e passage says that the malarial parasites that reside in red blood cells are eliminated after 120 days. What if malarial parasites can also reside in other places in a person’s body? If for instance the parasites can reside in the spleen, from which they are not eliminated as frequently, as well as in red blood cells, they may not be eliminated within 120 days.

可是，题目中说the parasite cannot travel to a new generation of red blood cells,那为什么我还可以假设malarial parasites can also reside in other places in a person’s body？那不是改变原文所提供的信息了么？？
不明白，谁可以帮解释一下呀。不胜感激额。

你這説法屬於偷換概念。

同楼上，题中只说不能在红细胞中travel, 但不代表不能在其他细胞中travel

噢噢噢噢！我懂了！是不是说，只有resides in the Red blood cells的 malarial parasite不能 travel to a new generation of red blood cells，但是这些parasite除了在Red blood里还有可能存在于其他细胞里，而这些细胞是120天排不出体内的？

我这个理解是不是就对了？？

啊~~GMAT好刁钻啊。看来还有钻牛角尖理解透彻原文啊。。。。弱项。。。。

就是说可以寄生到脾里，这样就超过120天了，推翻了原有的结论。有点隐晦啊这题，转了个弯。
