(B) scientists had learned about making a synthetic growth hormone, they had to remove it painstakingly 错about making a synthetic 太冗长了

(D) learning how to make a synthetic growth hormone, scientists had to remove it painstakingly 相对原文改动最小

(E) learning how to synthesize the growth hormone, it had to be painstakingly removed by scientists 错learning的逻辑主语是it ，不对

本题答案是C ，我选择了D，答案边上是我认为了一些解释，不过C 和 D一时也想不出如何选择，还望请教啊

make a synthetic growth hormone 不简洁，除此以外，好像D也没啥句法问题

before learning ... 有“开始学习之前”，而不是原文中“学会之前”的含义。

(C)it指代the growth hormone（明确it的指代对象，是做对本题的关键）。
(D) it指代synthetic growth hormone不符合逻辑。
给与我一样没看清题目跟解释的同学一个参考。。。。

我觉得还是synthesize优于make a synthetic growth的问题导致it指代的变化

A: learn how to make a synthetic growth hormone和removing变成伴随关系，也就是同时发生，不符合原意。
B：learn how to synthesize应该在painstakingly removed之后，所以后者应该用过去完成时而前者用过去时，B中用反了。
C：答案。
D：it指代的是synthetic growth hormone. 这个东西在painstakingly removed的时候还没被合成出来，不符合逻辑。
E：it变成learning的主语了，不对。
