OG No.15
In his research paper, Dr. Frosh, medical director of the Payne Whitney Clinic, distinguishes (mood swings, which may be violent without their being grounded in mental disease, from genuine manic-depressive psychosis.)
B. mood swings, perhaps violent without being grounded in mental disease, and genuine manic-depressive psychosis.
C. between mood swings ,which may be violent without being grounded in mental disease, and genuine manic-depressive psychosis.
D. between mood swings, perhaps violent without being grounded in mental disease, from genuine manic-depressive psychosis.
E. genuine manic-depressive psychosis and mood swings, which may be violent without being grounded in mental disease.
The answer is C. OG中说B中perhaps violent is awkward and less clear thanC中which may be violent,为什么呢?

应该也不对吧,因为distinguish A from B中,B中应该包括A(就是说不管A与B是不是同一性质,但A应该在B中),而这里的genuine manic-depressive psychosis没有包括mood swings 吧?

agree vivian
distinguish between A and B 和distinguish A from B最大的区别在于,前者是在AB同属一类时候的比较,后者是A属于B之间的比较
如
Speeches distinguishes man from the animals.

我认为distinguish A from B 和 between A and B 二者并无区别。
作为及物动词,在词条1:distinguish right from wrong;
I can distinguish between right and wrong。 How do you distinguish between various species of deer?

[intransitive and transitive]to recognize and understand the difference between two or more things or people
(synonym: differentiate)
distinguish between
His attorney argued that Cope could not distinguish between right and wrong.
distinguish somebody/something from
a method of distinguishing cancer cells from normal tissue
从下面的例句中来看distinguish a from b, ab 并无从属关系, cancer cells不从属于normal tissue.
