正确答案是C。我选的是E。答案解释E reorder and garble the “one X...” construction, making four times as many refer illogicallyto pupils.为什么这里说修饰pupils呢？？

这里的话前面主句部分是主谓宾，后面的four times as many as是副词短语修饰前面主句的主语和谓语。所以E的解释说four times as many as修饰pupils.
