楼上的解释很对，我也这才看懂，原来distinction是省略掉了

而我同时觉得D选项把原文的意思改了，文中并没有否定distinction没有ie in any specific skill，而是lie not so much in specific skill as in our ability to extend...只是程度不一样，并非否定前者。
