疑问点：The adverb recently in choices B and C distorts the meaning of the sentence by illogically suggesting that what was recent was only the extension of the slump, and not the slump itself.


我的疑问点：这个题目的B和C结合OG的解释，我还是不明白到底为什么，特别是OG的解释。非常感谢大家的宝贵帮助。

  ；另外，我觉得B和C那个THE RECENTLY不是也是对名词的修饰吗？真是搞不懂，谢谢大家帮助笨笨的自由

另外，OG说， the singular pronoun its agrees in number with the singular noun referent retailer可是，retailer明摆着是个人啊！怎么能用its来指代呢？自由比较菜菜，希望大家给予帮助，感激！！！

1,  看这个例子，ETS这样用的。250. The company announced that its profits declined much less in the second quarter than analysts had expected it to and its business will improve in the second half of the year.  所以可以说，retailer said.


2，the (recently extended) sales slump. recent (extended (sales slump))是不一样的，至少美国人认为是不一样的。


the (recently extended) sales slump：最近才extended的slump，以前这个sales slump没有extended。


recent (extended (sales slump))：最近的extended的slump，不是以前的extended的slump。
