persuading people to eat what had previously been horse feed（主语）restored（谓语动词）market equilibrium（宾语）。

大概的意思：现在人们吃的breakfast cereals 实际就是 horse feed，因为the growing number of automobiles，所以a decline in horse ownership，所以 a subsequent grain glut（马粮多了），然后 persuading people to eat what had previously been horse feed，这样restored market equilibrium。
