the harvesting is a gerund (noun) which makes choice B parrallel.
In addition, I would avoid using "they" because it is unclear what "they" refer to.
ie: the Mochica(singular) developed their(plural). I think the question itself is faulty. It would make more sense (at least to me) to have ..... developed "its".
