标题: 请教各位大侠一道语法题

1. Alaska regularly deposits some of its profits from the sale of oil into a special fund, with the intention to sustain the state’s economy after the exhaustion of its oil reserves.

(A) fund, with the intention to sustain the state’s economy after the exhaustion of its oil reserves

(B) fund, the intention of which is to sustain the state’s economy after they have exhausted their oil reserves

(D) fund intended to sustain the state’s economy after exhausting its oil reserves

(E) fund that they intend to sustain the state’s economy after oil reserves are exhausted

答案C。为什么？难道intended修饰fund吗？我觉得应该intened是阿拉斯加的动作。请指教。

fund是intend的承受者，所以用intened；而Alaska是intend的施动者，因此要用intending。

那么A为什么不对？ with the intention 修饰ALASKA不对吗？

A实际可以这么理解：Alaska intend to sustain the state’s economy ，这句话理解起来很奇怪，intend的主体通常是人（有思想的东西），而且the exhaustion 这里用动词形式更好。
