此题答案为E 我开始的时候也是选E，但是看到company's earnings in the first quarter were more than double those of 不对称，直接放弃了选E。恳请NN解答。还要个疑问，考试的时候是第一感觉重要呢还是什么重要？因为我发现自己往往第一感觉都是对的改了的往往错掉

介词不重要吗还是比较对象对称了，相对来说介词就不重要了？

只有earning才能exceed某一个figure，公司不能超过数字，所以A B C 都不能选
earning不能double quarter，所以D也不对
只能选E

those of 什么什么是固定搭配啊

中文就是：这个季度的数字超过上个季度“的”

你不能说这个季度的数字超过上个季度，因为数字不能超过季度

Those指代earnings 对吧？ company's earnings in the first quarter 对称的话也该是 those in the previous quarter 啊可是E明明就 those of the previous quarter 。因为GMAT很强调对称，这样的话我开始看到E的时候第一感觉就是想把它排除，而且很难再去考虑E选项。

楼主要改掉你现在所认为的表面的平行看法。你要认真思考到题目里面的实质。平行到底是什么平行？要把这个理解个透彻到真正意的平行还是要花点时间的。
这个题考的是比较，那么考的目的就比较中的平行。
主干理解是earnings in the first quarter和earnings of the previous quarter.和你说的those in the previous quarter不是一个意思么？何必一直纠缠形上的平行？况且现在都考意上平行的为多。

最近也有点感觉到了，可能刚开始接触语法的时候确实只在意表面的平行了，很不好的习惯！你的话真如醍醐灌顶！
