Building large new hospitals in the bistate area would constitute a wasteful use of resources, on the basis of avoidance of duplicated facilities alone. (A) on the basis of avoidance of duplicated facilities alone (B) on the grounds of avoiding duplicated facilities alone (C) solely in that duplicated facilities should be avoided (D) while the duplication of facilities should be avoided (E) if only because the duplication of facilities should be avoided作者: 张大猴 时间: 2010-2-2 18:31
同问 A B 之间不确定 on the basis of....on the grounds of...
"on the basis of" on the basis of x = using x as your source of information or evidence; you (almost always) can also say "based on" meaning the same thing
"On the basis of Bingru's opinion of Nan, Steve decided she was a really really nice person."
usually don't say "on the grounds of," but "on grounds of" -- this = because, a little more fancy or legal sounding
"It was decided that the killer was not responsible for his actions on grounds of insanity."
D below is wrong because "while" = at the same time as作者: AHOLA 时间: 2015-2-22 14:09
