这题说D错的都是说并列问题，可是我觉得并列反而不对，因为doubling和bringing的动作发出者是不同的，前者是土地，后者是购地的这个行为，所以应该用逗号隔开，bringing作为前面整个分局的伴随状语 所以坚持选D。

不知道NN们有什么想法？？请赐教！

标题: 补上我的疑惑
这题说D错的都是说并列问题，可是我觉得并列反而不对，因为doubling和bringing的动作发出者是不同的，前者是土地，后者是购地的这个行为，所以应该用逗号隔开，bringing作为前面整个分局的伴随状语 所以坚持选D 不知道NN们有什么想法？？请赐教！

我认为土地无法发出double这个动作，double和bring的发出者都是购地行为。

就好像the population of japan doubles that of canada一样

不一定只有具有主观能动性的东西才能double其他的东西

反而如果行为是主语，我认为不好解释意思了

啊 这题的意思是不是购了土地之后疆土扩大了，而不是那片土地是疆土的2倍？ 我好像明白了

这题我想问下介词的问题，既然C里面的its可以指代US，为么E里面的it不能指代Louisiana呢？？还有with的用法我一直不是很清楚，有NN路过麻烦指点下呢~~~

我开始还是选的是E，虽然现在也还是不理解C的with的用法，但是觉得E错的比较多。
C的ｉｔｓ可以指ｕｓ是因为ｕｓ是主语，而Ｅ的这只待就很不清，既可以是Ｌｏｕｉｓｉａｎａ又可以是主语。而且最重要的是你看原句ａｃｑｕｉｒｅ是谓语，而这里却将它变成了修饰成分。改变了文章的重心

这题我做错了。做的时候没有想到DOUBLE是动词。应该选C吧。doubling和bringing都作为前面买地的伴随。

我认为D的错误在于两个结果状语doubling和bringing之间少了“and”连接。

谈谈我的拙见哈。。。
1、语法要从句意入手，而不是从规则入手。
在原句中，double和brought是并列的意思，那么先判断这个并列是不是正确，显然这里两个动词做整个acquire行为的伴随是正确的；
2、D选项，in the Louisiana Purchase of 1803, for about four cents an acre这种两个介词用逗号隔开的情况很少见，for about four cents an acre的修饰对象有歧义more than doubling the country’s size, bringing 这种情况的bring有修饰double的嫌疑，如果是同时修饰acquire应该有and。

C选项逻辑清楚很有层次，我的感觉是GMAT的正确句子都是很有层次的，像D这种断断续续的混乱的，一般不用深究都是错的。
从句意入手，是解难题的王道。切忌只顾所谓的语法规则。此乃无形胜有形。。。。

A which指代不清：有可能指代US、828000 square miles、4 cent an acre，虽然从后面的句意可以推断是指828000 square miles，但是那也是需要推断滴~另外，the country's size 会导致后面未划线部分的its指代有歧义
B 呃，形象来讲，就是一堆肉，没得骨架——fragment，提炼不出S.+V.+O.的结构
C correct。至于对with用法有疑惑的童鞋可以去查查字典
D 不是一般化的fragment，如果这点没有感觉到的同学，可以看看for about four cents an acre这个分句，前后都不搭边啊
E 那个it，暂且不论指代清不清，我认为单数形式不能指代828000 square miles吧

卤煮和我想的一模一样！！看了解释之后明白很多，现在说说我的看法（若有错误，欢迎指正）
A.which指代acre,错误
B.不是完整的句子，缺少主谓
C.正确，with可做原因状语。Doubling和bringing作伴随结果状语，修饰政府购地这个行为，修饰动词acquired.
D.开始纠结是对的选项
doubling修饰828,000平方英里，bringing作为伴随结果状语修饰acquired.
首先，单从句子来说，整个句子过于分散，一般不会gmat不会作为正确答案；
从语义和语法上来说，即使doubling修饰828,000平方英里，那么bringing有修饰doubling的歧义，最重要的是，完全改变了逻辑语义：828，000平方英里的土地市国土面积的两倍，可是原句要表达的意思是“政府以四美分一英亩的价格购买828，000平方英里的土地，（买了地之后），国土面积是现在的两倍，国土的西方边界到达太平”
E.it没有指代对象；acquire和buy同时用，有重复的嫌疑
