这里我想确认一下我的想法。这个currently 26 billion barrels a year，是不是相当于一个同位语，后面句子主语要能被他解释？疑问这个原因排除了B-E？请各位高人指点，万分感谢！

currently 26 billion barrels a year是不是同位语我不确定，但是后面句子的主语要与之平行，能跟barrels平行的也就是oil consumption了。

我觉得就是同位语。所以逗号后面的核心词一定要是consumption。

常见的是分词先行的结构：Currently consumed 26 billion barrels a year, world's oil....

错误：改变句意。原文中rate是恒定的2%，而不是变化的。GMAT中随意改变形容词副词的位置或者修饰对象，常常产生错误。
C. the world’s oil is being consumed at the increasing rate of
错误：同B
D. the rise in the rate of the world’s oil consumption is
错误：逻辑错误，同B
E. oil is consumed by the world at an increasing rate of
错误：同B。

B-E中的world, world's oil, the rise and oil 都无法正确修饰26 billion barrels a year；
D中的rise in the rate of is unidomatic；
