T-4-Q31
As sources of electrical power, windmills now account for only about 2,500 megawatts nationwide, but production is almost expected to double by the end of the year, which would provide enough electricity for 1.3 million households.
almost expected to double by the end of the year, which would provide
almost expected that it will double by the end of the year, thus providing
expected that it will almost double by the end of the year to provide
expected almost to double by the end of the year and thus to provide
expected almost to double by the end of the year, which would thus be providing
expect to do要比expect that it要简洁;B的providing修饰be expected感觉不好,D中to double和to provide并列,能够清清晰表达出句子的意思,production is expected to provide没有理解错误。
原句是production is almost expected that it will double by the end of the year,可不是光说产量增长,而是“人预期产量会增长”,这个是不能伴随provide enough electricity for 1.3 million households这个结果的,人预期不能带来增长结果
umm...double和provide都是at the end of the year时候发生的事情,而present participle在句尾表示了"伴随动作"或者"伴随结果",而这里,double不是延续性动词,所以无法伴随动作,double和provide同时发生,所以不是伴随结果。两者是并列关系,所以应该用to double ... and to provide ...
B中 almost expect ... D中 expect almost to double ...

其实,我看了一些国外网站说的,都说almost expect的语序有问题,说 "production is expected almost" is the correct order of words
