Dickinson were written over a period beginning a few years before Susan’s marriage to Emily’s brother and ending shortly before Emily’s death in 1886, outnumbering—— outnumbering 是伴随状语修饰前面的逻辑主语letter。语法上没有大问题。但是这个句子意思上是强调were written over a period ，outnumbering是次要表达的地方。在逻辑意思上没有E好。 B. Dickinson were written over a period that begins a few years before Susan’s marriage to Emily’s brother and ended shortly before Emily’s death in 1886, outnumber 和a的最大区别是outnumber，在这里outnumber是动词形式如果修饰letter的话就有两个谓语。两个谓语要有连词连接。而这里没有and连词。
