答案是E,
问题是为什么B不对，beginning的逻辑主语是哪个？
请教cders.

B begining的逻辑主语是England，所以不对，因为England不是开始于1788年。
现在分词在句首，逻辑主语等于主句主语。

谢谢cx_ding！其实我对D选项也很有疑问，不知道D和E的区别是什么？你有何高见？

根据BY的解释，a period... 在语法上作a hundred years的同位语，但“时期”不能解释“数量”，所以是不对的。
