两句都关系到句子逻辑含义。
第一句,有人证明了因为猩猩有好奇心所以。。。。   还是     证明了猩猩做。。。是因为好奇心
第二句,两个分句的意思相反,所以不能用not only... but also...

"A so that B" means that for the DIRECT reason A, here is the consequence B.
Q177: "chimpanzees exhibit the kind of curiosity" is not such a direct reason to necessarily deduce  "new patterns of behavior and expression can be passed".
It is a logical problem.

Notice that the first-half sentence shows the advantage of "the systematic clearing of forests" while the second-half sentence shows the disadvantage of it.
We can't use "not only A but also B" here because this phrase means A and B reinforce each other.
We should use "but/but also/but it also" here to show A and B are negative to each other.
This is another logical problem.
