Census data for Prenland show that unmarried Prenlandic men in their thirties outnumber unmarried Prenlandic women in that age group by about ten to one. Most of these men do wish to marry.Clearly, however, unless many of them marry women who are not Prenlandic, all but a minority will remain unmarried.
The argumnt maks which of the following assumptions?
A. Emigration from Prenland is more common among womon than among men.
B. A greaeter proportion of Prenlandic women in their thirties than of Prenlandic men of the same age would prefer to remain unmarried.
C. It is unlikely that many of these unmarried Prnlandic men will marry women more than a few yeears older than themselvs.
D. Prenland has a high rate of divorce.
E. Most of the unmarried Prenlandic men are unwilling to marry women who are not Prenlandic.
The workers at Bell Manufacturing will shortly go on strike unless the management increases their wages. As Bell’s president is well aware, however,in order to increase the workers’wages,Bell would have to sell off some of its subsidiaries. So,some of Bell’s subsidiaries will be sold.
The conclusion above is proprly drawn if which one of the following is assumed?
A. Bell Manufacturing will begin to suffer increased losses.
B. Bell’s management will reefuse to increase its workeers’ wages.
C. The workers at Bell Manufacturing will not be going on strike.
D. Bell’s prsident has the authority to offer the workers their dsired wage increase.
E. Bell’s workers will not accept a package of improved benefits in place of their dsired wage increase.

The second assumption question is an old LSAT question and it asks for a SUFFICIENT assumption, which would lead all the way to the conclusion of the stimulus.
Premise: 1) no wage increase --> workers will strike 2) wage increase --> sell off some subsidiaries
Conclusion: Bell will sell some subsidiaries.
The contrapositive of premise 1) is: no strike --> wage increase, therefore the logic chain is no strike --> wage increase--> sell off some subsidiaries
Based on this logic chain, either "no strike" or "wage increase" would be a trigger for "sale of some subsidiaries."
Among the answer choices, C simply picks the former as the correct sufficient assumption.
Remember: sufficient condition --> necessary condition. If you understand this simply logic, there is nothing in your way to solve logical reasoning problems.
这题的假设 unmarried Prenlandic men outnumber unmarried Prenlandic women unmarried Prenlandic men are willing to get married.
结论 unmarried Prenlandic men have to marry women who are not Prelandic to get rid of single status.
所以logic chain是 unmarried Prenlandic women are not enough->men do want to marry --> men have to marry women who are not Prenlandic.
C讲的是Prenlandic men are unlikely to marry women a few years older.
Because the stimulus mentioned "in their 30's" and "the same age group."
关系在于unmarrired men 可以marry unmarried women in different age group, 如果是这样,同在Prenland的其他age group 的women就可能可以满足这些unmarried men, 他们就不许要marry 其他地方的人。 但我觉得问题在于答案这个assumption 不全面,应该说 unmarried P men are unlikey to marry those in different age group才全面。
