标题: based on用法 og12 25题和28题比较

Based on accounts of various ancient writers, scholars

all-female cult that, perhaps as early as the sixth

OG解释此处based on是错的，应该改成using accounts of various ancient writers。

我的理解是应该是sth be based on sth.不能说sb. be based on sth. 过去分词based on的逻辑主语应该是主句的主语，所以scholars不能用based on修饰

此处based on是正确的，那我就很混淆了，此处的based on到底修饰前面主句的逻辑主语mochica还是修饰就近的the society

过去分词和现在分词的逻辑主语一定是主句的主语吧？

请各位解释一下，第二句中based on到底修饰的是什么。如果based on前面没有逗号，很容易理解成修饰society,但是有逗号能表示是把which is省略了吗？

我给点建议，供探讨

只有某理论，东西（比如上述说的社会）能被BASED ON，

人不能被BASED ON。但我也没有发现SB BASE STH ON STH这种用法。也没看到过BASING STH ON STH,SB DO....这种结构。

但我上的新东方老师说：句子+逗号+被动分词短语是“不好”的结构。这点也是比较模糊的。。

没有逗号，是限制性定从，意思完全不一样的

My two cents:

if "based on" is at the beginning of the sentence, the grammar subject of "based on" is the subject of the sentence.

if "based on" is positioned at the end of the sentence, normally it is used as modifier to the most nearby noun.

毫无疑问的是besed on是修饰society的，这点og解释里面写了，但是如何判断是就近修饰还是修饰主语，这点除了逻辑判断之外，还没有有效的办法

但是C选项OG 的解释是and basing it on 必须在主语之前以使句子完整，那是不是承认了basing it on...sb do 是对的？
E选项OG 解释是they based 和they exploited 是平行的，但是什么什么...那是不是又承认they based it on 也是对的呢？

个人理解，供探讨
把based on 加个 be, 比较直观
（1） The scholars be based on 肯定是错的，不合逻辑。正确的应该是 the picture be based on.
（2）是 the society be based on。至于为什么不能是the M be based on，最主要不合逻辑，而且就近原则。（请高手指导）
最后，如此看来，依照（2）的结构，（1）完全可以改成 scholars have painted a sketchy pictures, based on ...
这样也说得通吧

看OG解析

The sentence describes the elaborate society of the
Mochica with a series of three features,

这three features指的就是后面3个行为.

所以总结下，X basen on Y
X只能是STH，不能是sb
