原文(NY Times):So dogged were her investigations of the garment industry, and so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform, that she was first recruited by Gov. Al Smith, and later by Gov. Franklin D. Roosevelt, to work within New York State government, rather than against it.
So dogged were Frances Perkins' investigations of the garment industry, and her lobbying for wage and hour reform was persistent, Alfred E. Smith and Franklin D. Roosevelt recruited Perkins to work within the government, rather than as a social worker.
A. and her lobbying for wage and hour reform was persistent,
B. and lobbying for wage and hour reform was persistent, so that
C. her lobbying for wage and hour reform persistent, that
D. lobbying for wage and hour reform was so persistent,
E. so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform, that
而prep的这道考题里,so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform前面的and去掉了,说明并不是与前面的So dogged were Frances Perkins' investigations of the garment industry做并列成分,而是做从属伴随成分(独立主格).
C里面也是独立主格,伴随修饰前半个分句,错误的原因就在于并没有表示出her lobbying for wage and hour reform persistent也是recruited的原因之一。
open to discuss.
So dogged were Frances Perkins' investigations of the garment industry{, so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform, }that Alfred E. Smith and Franklin D. Roosevelt recruited Perkins to work within the government, rather than as a social worker.
同意jenny,只是讨论帖最后貌似也没有确定的解释,我也没有查到独立主格能够倒装的corroborative evidence,所以so persistent her lobbying for wage and hour reform成分是独立主格也只是我的猜想..
upupup~

651. Since the 1930’s aircraft manufacturers have tried to build airplanes with frictionless wings, wings so smooth and so perfectly shaped that the air passing over them would not become turbulent.
20. Antarctica receives more solar radiation than does any other place on Earth, yet the temperatures are so cold and the ice cap is so reflective that little of the polar ice melts during the summer, were it to do so, the water levels of the oceans would rise 250 feet and engulf most of the world’s great cities.
C的错误原因我在3楼有讲到,C里面的her lobbying for wage and hour reform persistent虽然是从属原因,但是也需要保持与前面的分句平行,C违反平行法则(unidiomatic),应该跟E一样才对。
